    Current Projects

    PI developing the Precipitation Imaging Package (PIP).

    Precipitation particle descriptions are need to improve remote sensing measurements of water flux in cold regions. Instrumentation to provide those measurements are not commercially available. GMP ground calibration\validation studies require such data to develop\improve\validate measurements from space.

    PIP is a state of the art instrument that acquires ~400 images per second, 24\7. The huge data flow is managed by NASA developed software that records the images to disc and analyses them to produce user friendly results.

    PIPs are presently deployed in collaboration with GPM investigators in the US, Canada and Europe.
